It's the summer of 1967 - The Summer Of Love

It was a time of war and a time of protest. 

It was a time of drugs and psychedelic art and music.

It was a time for free love and a time to change the world.

California Dreaming (the musical) takes you on a musical journey through

Toronto's Folk scene in Yorkville then to Greenwich Village in New York and on to Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco.

Featuring the music of:

Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot

The Mamas & The Papas, Peter Paul and Mary, The Lovin' Spoonful,

Herman's Hermits, The Young Rascals, Jefferson Airplane, The Turtles, The Beatles,

The Doors, The 5th Dimension, Buffalo Springfield,

to name a few.

California Dreaming is for everyone -

those who lived through the 60's (but can't remember it)

and those who wish they had been there.

Casting Information

We will be holding auditions on September 16, 22, 23, 29 & 30 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm

We are looking for the following:

Leads

Georgie - female age 16-23 (singer, dancer, actress)

A young activist with visions of saving the world goes on a journey by joining a hippie movement and heading to California.

Danny - male age 16 - 23 (must be a singer, actor and musician) 

Georgie's love interest, a musician /singer in a band, travels with her to San Francisco and becomes a draft dodger.

Jean - female age 40 - 55

Georgie's mother, peacemaker of the family.

Joe - male age 40 - 55

Georgie's father, has a hard time dealing with Georgie and her idealistic views.

Marion - female age 30 - 45

Long time friend of Joe and Jean.  Also Georgie's God Mother.

Supporting Roles

Sarah - female 18 - 30

Georgie's oldest sister.  Likes to stir up trouble.

Mystic Windsong - female age 18 - 30

A Mother Earth hippie.  Georgie's "Guardian Angel"

Kelly - female age 16 - 23

Georgie's best friend.  Goes with her on her quest.

Chris - male age 16 - 23

Danny's friend and band member.

The following will have a solo performance and also be part of the chorus:

4 - 6 dancers (must have dance experience)

A chorus of males and females age 16 - 25

and older chorus members of any age to play an old couple, 8 police officers and  2 shop keepers
